Artist Statement
My work combines elements of illustration and Fine Art in the mediums of print, drawing and painting. My practice uses ready-made objects and produces illustrative drawings, prints and paintings in the subject matter of nature, technology, building architecture and the environment. My intent is to make forms of recording of reality of life, to see not only the dark aspect of life, but showing the beauty of life from the dark aspects of life. The aesthetic is inspired from doing a lot of walking in the valleys in Port Talbot, which generate ideas into unique aesthetic, influenced by the intertwining of organic and non-organic forms. When I was studying Fine Art at Swansea College of Art the process of deconstruction, this practice was expended further when mixing organic and non-organic forms to give a vigorous response at that moment of time.
